Intermediate Training (Ropes)

Once the general military Training and [CORE] options are complete or at least underway, cadets may begin working on their intermediate training or "color category" choice. This optional training is grouped by related specialties and once the basic Requirements and Wolf Challenge for each is complete, cadets may earn a colored rope or pin in that color category.

With the exception of Leadership recognition ropes, only one colored rope may be worn by any cadet.

Basic Requirements

To be eligible for ANY rope, cadets must first succesfully complete the following;

  • have rating of "Outstanding" on a most recent uniform inspection
  • meet Cedar Heights Orange Society membership requirements
  • have at least 90% in school AND Sea Cadets drill Attendance
  • must complete all [CORE] activities in all color groups
  • must pass the most recent, relevant or related advancement section
  • must earn at least 10 points in their color category
  • must have the recommendation of their commanding officer

Click on one of the color strands for more information about the training opportunities and modules that make up that color Category
