Welcome! |
We are Wolf Squadron of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps. The Sea Cadets Corps is a national youth organization that promotes interest and skill in naval disciplines while instilling strong moral character and life skills through leadership and technical programs modeled after the Navy's professional development system. At the national level, Sea Cadets is comprised of two programs under the United States Naval Sea Cadets Corps (USNSCC) umbrella: "Sea Cadets" is for young people age 13 through 18 (or high school), and "League Cadets" for youth ages 10 to 13 (middle school). Cadets drill together, with only minor differences in the training program. Our command consists of separate but cohesive components. Wolf Squadron is set up for the cadets who typically attend South Kitsap High School and drill at the Armory Annex. Our middle school cadets drill at their Middle School under the command "Training Ship Cedar." |
US Naval Sea Cadets and the Navy League |
At the request of the Department of the Navy, the Navy League of the United States established the USNSCC in 1962 to "create a favorable image of the Navy on the part of American youth." Today's U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps continues to further the image of our maritime services by adhering to a standardized training program designed to: |
1. Develop interest and ability in seamanship
and seagoing skills. Wolf Squadron goes a step farther. We strive to build a strong sense or patriotism, belonging, and character in our cadets. We are proud to partner with The Navy League, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American legion as well as other community and service organizations all over Kitsap County and Western Washington to make sure we connect three of our most valuable assets, Kids Community, and Veterans. The Sea Cadets program is part of the US Navy and Goast Guard's youth development program, you can be a Sea Cadet with no commitment to join the Navy or any other military service. Our national website www.seacadets.org has more information explaining who we are and what we do, and we encourage you to take a look. |
