The Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) Recruit Training commonly referred to
as "Boot Camp" is the first official training a cadet attends. Recruit
Training (RT) is mandatory for all Naval Sea Cadets. This fast
paced 7 to 14 day training is an age appropriate "Basic Training / Boot
Camp" which immerses cadets in a military environment
learning basic Navy subjects, elementary seamanship, damage control, and
quarter's maintenance, while focusing on basic military instruction and
team building. Sea Cadets Boot Camp is designed to instill the values of
discipline, accountability, and teamwork in a safe environment. In a
nutshell, it is meant to instruct Cadets in what it means and takes to
be a US Naval Sea Cadet.
Recruit Training is the cadet's introduction to military routine and
discipline and is the first step toward advancing in the Sea Cadet
Program. Recruit Training is optional for Naval League Cadets. NSCC
cadets must complete E-1 and E-2 Polaris coursework in order to attend
recruit training.
Cadets must first complete RT before they can participate in other
Advanced Trainings. Sea Cadet training is held throughout the
continental United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam on military
installations and group training facilities. Below are some of the Sea
Cadet advanced trainings offered throughout the calendar year.
